MTS reports $134 million revenue for 2012 Q1; hydraulics up 34%
MTS Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: MTSC) on Feb. 2 reported fiscal 2012 Q1 financial results. Mobile Hydraulics was up 34%, driven by demand in the Americas. Industrial market demand was down 4% primarily due to large customer order timing in Europe and Asia.

MTS Systems Corp. Sensors Div. is launching a new marketing initiative around the company’s compact Model MS sensor for mobile hydraulic applications. These sensors are designed specifically to fit into small cylinder packages used in compact applications that include steering systems, blade deck lifters and many others.
Eaton Corp.’s Q4 profits up
Eaton Corp. reported that its fourth-quarter net income attributable to common shareholders increased to $362 million from $280 million in the year ago quarter. Net income per share was $1.07, a 30% increase over net income per share of $0.82 in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Sun Hydraulics expanding its Sarasota facility
Sun Hydraulics Corp. announced that it has applied for all permitting to begin site preparation for a planned expansion on property the company owns. The Tallevast facility and the planned new facility, was completed in November 2011. The new facility, when completed, will have 60,000 sq-ft of manufacturing and 16,000 sq-ft of office space to create capacity for future growth. The total investment, including the completed infrastructure utility building and site work, is estimated to be approximately $16 million.
Muncie to offer product and application school
