The latest data published by the National Fluid Power Association shows industry shipments of fluid power products for October 2014 increased 5.0% compared to October 2013, and increased 3.4% when compared to last month. Mobile hydraulic, industrial hydraulic, and pneumatic shipments increased in October 2014 when compared to October 2013. These charts are drawn from data collected from more than 80 manufacturers of fluid power products by NFPA’s Confidential Shipment Statistics (CSS) program.
Each point on this graph represents the most recent 12 months of orders compared to the previous 12 months of orders. Each point can be read as a percentage. For example, 104.8 (the September 2014 level of the industrial hydraulic series) indicates that industrial hydraulic orders received from October 2013 to September 2014 were 104.8% of the orders received from October 2012 to September 2013.
This graph of 12‐month moving averages shows that in October 2014, both hydraulic shipments and pneumatic shipments increased.The table below is expressed in terms of cumulative percent changes. These changes refer to the percent difference between the relevant cumulative total for 2014 and the total for the same months in 2013. For example, the September pneumatic shipments figure of 6.5 means that for the calendar year through September 2014, pneumatic shipments increased 6.5% compared to the same time period in 2013.
