Modular pumps offer numerous control options

The LH30VO Series 20 of hydraulic pumps from Liebherr Components complements the company’s existing portfolio of hydraulic pumps in the medium pressure range. It is based on a modular system that can be adapted flexibly to customer requirements and enable various applications in mobile and stationary hydraulics.

Liebherr LH30VO axial-piston hydraulic pumps

The swashplate-type axial-piston unit features a compact housing design. And an optimized nine-piston rotary group reportedly ensures high efficiency. Three nominal sizes range from 28 to 86 cm3 with continuous operating pressures to 280 bar and maximum pressures to 320 bar.

As part of the modular concept, the LH30VO pump is available with an extended controller program covering more than 20 mechanical-hydraulic, electrohydraulic and electric options. Controllers can be integrated alone or in combination with each other. This allows broader coverage of applications possible in the fields of stationary and mobile hydraulics.

This includes, for example, an electric proportional pressure control with a negative or positive characteristic curve; load-sensing controller with pressure cut-off; remote pressure control; and proportional swiveling angle controls with or without a signal loss. Electrically operated controllers have been supplemented by a 12V solenoid variant with or without cable breakage detection. The aim is to achieve an optimal performance of the entire hydraulic system through combinable standardized controls, making it easy for the customer to have a tailor-made solution. The controllers cover most applications in mobile hydraulics — for example in steering pumps, fan drives and drives for equipment cylinders.

One further innovation is a universal through-drive option for the LH30 product family that lets customers acquire standalone units and extend them as needed, even in different sizes. The universal through-drive option is possible due to the specific design of the pump. The standardized opening is sealed by a pressure-proof cap at the back of the pump. Users can, therefore, decide any time to plug in an additional unit at this interface, only needing to specify the size of the standardized SAE flange and spline size. This allows maximum flexibility in the design phase, as well for retrofit. The through-drive capacity of the LH30 product family is up to 130%.

LH30VO family was developed for both mobile and industrial hydraulics. The medium-pressure pumps are especially suited for the use within mobile working machinery such as in construction equipment and maritime cranes, but also for agricultural and forestry machinery.
