ICUEE 2017, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition, opens its doors October 3-5 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
It only comes around every two years, but this year’s ICUEE 2017, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition, is looking to be bigger and better, with more exhibit space, education opportunities and networking events.
ICUEE 2017 will be held October 3-5 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville as the largest event for utility professionals and construction contractors in the electric, telecommunications/cable, natural gas, water, and wastewater sectors. Show organizers have said the event has reached record size with 28 acres of the latest utility and construction equipment, products and technologies from more than 900 exhibitors. More than 50 of these exhibitors will highlight fluid power technologies, including controls, pumps, motors, cylinders, filtration, and more.
ICUEE 2017 will feature exhibit pavilions for fleet management, safety and green utilities, China and Korean exhibit pavilions, and the Lift Safety Zone from the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO).
A 2-mile Test Drive Zone will allow attendees to operate equipment in job-like conditions, and the indoor Demo Stage features more than 20 fast-paced 20-minute exhibitor presentations.
Education is a mix of old and new
The ICUEE education lineup will see the return of popular programs including the Utility Safety and Utility Fleet conferences and the indoor Demo Stage.
More than 75 sessions will help utility and construction industry professionals enhance safety knowledge, increase efficiencies and reduce downtime on the job.
New this year will be the Field Classrooms. Ten 90-minute walk-around sessions will use the show floor instead of PowerPoint presentations to provide an overview of topics geared for those new to the industry.
Also new for 2017 is a “Discover ICUEE” walking tour prior to show opening.
The iP Utility Safety Conference begins October 2, for three days. The Utility Fleet Conference runs concurrently, with insights on maximizing fleet efficiencies.
In addition, industry certifications offered will include the Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification program and National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) written and recertification exam administrations.
Networking opportunities
The ICUEE benefit auction returns, with all proceeds again going to the Call of Duty Endowment, which helps military veterans secure high-quality jobs and raises awareness of the value vets bring to the workplace.
An expanded Bourbon, Beer & Bites event on October 5 will feature complimentary tastings of the foods and beverages of Louisville.
