HydraForce released a hydraulic pressure relief cartridge valve that meets the highest level of safety of the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC – Category IV, Group 2.
The RVD50-20P cartridge valve is CE-marked and intended for high pressure applications that must comply with PED 97/23/EC, such as hydraulic accumulator charging circuits for hydrostatic brakes, off-highway suspensions, regenerative circuits, and wind turbines in the renewable energy market. It can handle an operating pressure of 385 bar (5575 psi) and flow rates up to 113 lpm (30 gpm).
The direct-acting, poppet-type valve functions as a pressure limiting device for hydraulic circuit protection. The poppet design was developed using computational fluid dynamics for fast response to pressure surges with minimal friction and low hysteresis. The RVD50-20P can be specified in six different spring ranges – 08, 15, 24, 32, 42, and 50 – from 13.7 bar (200 psi) up to 350 bar (5075 psi) and. The variety of spring sizes let valve handle a wide range of application flows and pressures.
The RVD50-20P hydraulic cartridge valve comes with a tamper-proof, sealed housing that prevents field adjustments. Its plating is salt-spray tested to 1,000 hours to guard against corrosion. This valve also carries the five-year HydraForce warranty.
