Despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, bauma China will open this Tuesday in Shanghai. More than 28,000 exhibitors and 130,000 visitors are expected, and a number of U.S. and European-based fluid-power companies will have local representation at the show. Here’s a look at several new offerings for the fast-growing Chinese mobile market.
Danfoss Power Solutions will unveil its latest mobile hydraulics and electrification products and systems at bauma China 2020. One such development is a mobile elevating working platform, with an efficient mobile pump, mobile motor, onboard display screens, operating handles, sensors and safety controllers for both entire vehicles and mainframe manufacturers of aerial platforms.
These products will come with a vehicle control program suitable for the Chinese market, as well as a complete set of electro-hydraulic aerial platform solutions. It will also showcase the Digital Displacement pump. The pump can be applied to off-road vehicles powered by diesel, hybrid-power or fully-electric drives. With a particular focus on the excavator market, Digital Displacement technology is said to offer significant energy savings and increased productivity.
Husco will be in Shanghai presenting its latest developments from the new E-Control group, which is focused on converting digital signals to hydraulic control, effectively, efficiently and with application driven sophistication.
One example is Husco’s Exacto system, a digital machine control system that makes it easy to turn pilot-operated hydraulic machines into high-performance digitally controlled machines. Exacto reportedly combines market-leading electrohydraulic hardware into a system enabling any machine to be precisely controlled.
Hydac International, as part of the German pavilion, will feature its extensive product portfolio that extends from components to subsystems to complex, controlled drive units for mobile and stationary units; as well as technical services for hydraulic oil, lubricants, cooling lubricants and water. That includes electro-hydraulic devices, mobile pumps and valves, accumulators, sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, angle, inclination, speed), control units and software.
For example, the ICU (Intelligent Control Unit) is a new type of control with on-board electronics for mobile valves of the LX-Series. The brushless, electronically controlled motor ensures high precision and fast step response.
And the MFU 15 Mobile Filtration Unit is used as a portable service unit for filling hydraulic systems, flushing small hydraulic systems as well as for cleaning in bypass flow. Solid particle contamination as well as free water can be removed by the filter elements.
MTS Sensors will introduce a new sensor that brings rugged, off-highway performance to short-stroke, small-bore cylinder measurement. The new C-Series sensor is designed for battery powered applications with an operational voltage of 12/24 Vdc, output of 4-20 mA, and enhanced specifications for shock, vibration, temperature, and electrical immunity.
The company says it provides tangible benefits over older technology such as linear potentiometers. Due to the contact-free measuring principle of magnetostrictive sensors, the robust and accurate sensor does not have to be readjusted or calibrated, and it is suited for harsh environments.
Typical applications include use on mobile paving machines, asphalt sprayers and agricultural equipment, as well as on watercraft and recreational vehicles. The sensor is available in stroke lengths from 72 to 275 mm.
Poclain Hydraulics will exhibit a number of power-transmission offerings for mobile construction equipment, such as compact and robust wheel motors with modular options; a full line of medium duty pumps with a wide range of control types; valves and electronics for traction control and other functions; and a compact range of VB3 valves that address single- and dual-line braking circuits with reduced weight, increased security and enhanced performance.
On-hand experts will explain Never-get-stuck and AddiDrive technologies that help overcome hazardous weather or difficult terrain, as well as system solutions for on-demand assist-drive for off-road equipment. In machines like pavers and graders, it offers additional traction effort when needed in both forward and reverse.
An innovation area will feature the latest products and systems. That includes compact, responsive and powerful drives for light radio-controlled or autonomous machines and the related PM10 with universal solenoid electro-proportional control; and a reinforced, high-performance motor for track drives designed to withstand extreme axial loads.
Walvoil will display its latest products and systems dedicated to the Chinese construction and mining markets. Among new introductions are the SDX060 bankable valve, DVS Series valves, BWH and XMH handles, DJW and HJW Joysticks, and SVM980 and SVM320 hydraulic remote controls.
The SDX060 bankable proportional-control valves, for example, reportedly offer the market a compact solution with high control performance following the modern needs for high value power density. They are rated for flows to 11.9 gpm and 4,350 psi. It maintains the compactness necessary for mobile applications combined with the quality and versatility that already characterizes the SDE range. Mobile machines like aerial platforms, truck-mounted cranes, attachments, and municipal vehicles are some of the main applications.
