Boom_MowerHydraulic rotary actuators are powerful, compact fluid power products that have a lot of applicability in mobile machinery that require a lot of power, delivered in a tight space. Some common applications include steering and boom rotation. Some of the features and benefits of using hydraulic rotary actuators include:

• Application flexibility
• Increased function
• Will backdrive in overload conditions
• Acts as a hydraulic fuse
• Prevents mechanical damage
Cutaway• Simplifies installation
• Reduced space requirement—compact, power dense
• Reduced assembly cost, and
• Reduced part count.
Helac Corp. of Enumclaw, Wash., makes an entire family of hydraulic rotary actuators, which are used in agricultural, construction, energy, marine, material handling, military, mining, truck/trailer, and other applications. The overall product specifications are:

SteeringOutput Torque Range: 1,700 to 380,000 in.-lbs
Holding Torque: Up to 1,000,000 in.-lbs
Bearing Capacity Range: 5,000 to 1,505,000 in.-lbs

Specific models include:
L10 Series – 6 model sizes, 180° & 360°
