STAUFF Oil Quality Sensor (OQS) Monitors Engine Oil Condition

April 9, 2014 By Jennifer Calhoon

Share

STAUFFInterval oil changes are now a thing of the past thanks to the new STAUFF Oil Quality Sensor (OQS).

Because the OQS from STAUFF monitors oil condition – contamination and moisture – oil can be changed based on need rather than a set interval. This alone can lead to the savings of millions of gallons of oil a year.

Monitoring oil condition is clearly fundamental to understanding the optimal time to change.

  • Change too early and the cost is too high!
  • Change too late and the costs can be even greater!

The STAUFF OQS sensor is a live, highly flexible and cost effective condition based monitoring solution, designed to be permanently mounted within any lubrication system on any type of machine.

The STAUFF OQS Oil Quality Sensor reliably measures contamination in all industrial equipment, including;

  • Diesel and gas engines
  • Compressors
  • Industrial gear reducers
  • Wind turbines
  • Generator sets
  • Hydraulic systems

Data can be displayed on your existing system or on the STAUFF Oil Quality Display (OQD).

We’re looking for an oil mist detector to measure the oil carry over from the Feed Air Compressor used onboard marine vessels. The feed air pressure from compressor will range from around 7 to 20 bar normally and it can be higher also. This is for the air stream in a pipe so moving anywhere from 50 to 2000m3/hr.

There is 3mg/m3 oil carry over from the compressor that is acceptable and we need a detector to measure and monitor to make sure the level of oil mist do not exceed 3mg/m3, where actions need to be taken (Example : alarm or shut down the plant)

Do you have any sensors that will be suitable for this

I am interested in understanding the cost of the lubricant quality sensor range vs. the range of capabilities. Do you have it off the self for our testing.

    Thanks
    Jacob
