The 12th Scandinavian International Conference on Fluid Power (SICFP) will be hosted by IHA – Department of Intelligent Hydraulics and Automation at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT). The conference is co-organized by the network of Fluid Power Centres in Europe (FPCE). The Tampere event is held every fourth year.

The 2011 SICFP conference is scheduled from May 18-20 in beautiful Tampere, Finland, about 100 miles northwest of Helsinki. The program will focus on numerous areas in fluid power, including:

• mobile hydraulics
• industrial hydraulics
• digital hydraulics
• water hydraulics
• robotics, and
• pneumatics.

This conference will feature a special focus on papers relating to intelligent and autonomous machines, as well as energy efficient system solutions. The purpose of the conference is to provide delegates a nice forum for discussions and for the exchange of experiences with fluid power colleagues, along with getting the latest information of high level presentations.

For the first time, Prof. Kari Koskinen (left) act as chairman for the SICFP, taking the place of Prof. Matti Vilenius, who will act as an Honorary Chairman of the event.
