Poclain Hydraulics is expanding its Sturtevant facility in southeastern Wisconsin. The new production area expansion will be more than 60,000 square feet—a 60% increase in space for the production area overall. The groundbreaking for the new facility addition is planned for May 30 at 2:00 p.m.
Poclain Hydraulics acquired the facility, which is located in the Grandview business park, in 2001 for use as their North American headquarters. The existing site development is zoned M-3 and meets the existing facility use requirements. The building addition will be to the West of the current building. This addition will provide the needed framework and floor space to add future processes and product manufacturing to the North American portfolio. The addition will be accompanied by investments in manufacturing equipment, bringing total project investments to more than $20 million. Expected occupancy is slated for late 2018.
“The need for this addition is due to the strong growth of Poclain in North America and the expansion of our current product lines. It positions us to respond to future growth and will allow us to bring production of additional product lines to North America,” said Markus Rauchhaus, Group Director North America, Poclain. “With this expansion, we are planning a 10% staffing increase in 2018. Our future roadmap predicts further growth and investment in U.S. manufacturing.”

Poclain hydraulic excavators were the best in this category was back up to the 80’s. But Poclain was a little more expensive because of its superiority in hydraulics and the advanced products in this period. The company I worked with in the Philppinnes sold and serviced their excavators.
Sadly, Poclain and its affiliate closed but fortunately the hydraulics which is the best in the world with the high working pressure survived.
