Parker’s T8MINI vane pump launches at bauma for high efficiency, low noise

Parker Hannifin has launched the new T8MINI medium-duty, fixed-displacement vane pump series. It can be seen at bauma in Hall A4, Booth 215. The T8MINI achieves very high operational speeds and high service pressure at low displacement volumes. It is designed and optimized to meet the growing demand for more efficient, low-carbon electrical equipment and is especially suitable for mobile mini and mid-size machinery applications in construction, mining, marine & offshore, agriculture, oil & gas, and transportation.

Parker T8MINI Vane pump

The T8MINI was developed based on the renowned Denison vane technology, retains the best features of the previous T7 vane pump series, and adds new features to offer a quiet and efficient pump that is optimized for electric systems. Combined with a synchronous brushless electric motor, the T8MINI significantly improves machine performance to deliver high efficiency, high machine operational time, low noise levels and low total cost of ownership — all in a compact footprint.

The T8MINI owes its high overall efficiency to a very low hydro-mechanical efficiency with low acceptable values of volumetric efficiency. In high-speed applications, the T8MINI and electric motor combination results in a significant reduction in total power consumption and extended periods of operation.

Low noise levels are guaranteed even at the highest operating speeds, thanks to Denison silent vane pump technology. The T8MINI, therefore reduces environmental impacts, particularly in urban areas, and protects workers’ wellbeing. The ePump compact and affordable solution is easily obtained thanks to small displacements range provided by the T8MINI that require small torque matching with downsized small electric motor.

The new T8MINI series is available in four displacement variants – 6, 8, 10, and 12 cc/rev, with speeds up to 5,000 rpm, pressure up to 330 bar, and output flow up to 60 lpm. These vane pumps can also operate in a wide range of harsh environmental conditions, including cold starts at 5000 cSt and very hot conditions up to 10 cSt.

The T8MINI cartridge design features double-lip vane technology in a 10-vane configuration. New materials and coatings add to the improvements in reliability, compared to the T7 series. The T8MINI is up to 40% lighter than T7A series, and up to 20% more compact. The self-priming speed is improved by more than 38% and the overall efficiency is now 14% better than the T7A series.

“The T8MINI offers the best combination of high performance, low noise, compact size and cost when choosing the right ePump for your variable speed application,” said Dr-Ing Emanuele Gnesi, Project Manager at Parker’s Pump & Motor Division Europe. “Being innovative and one step ahead of the competition means looking differently at new electrification challenges, being daring and breaking with tradition. Delivering on our ambition to optimize the performance of current and future electrically-powered machines means new engineering breakthroughs are necessary. This was our inspiration in developing the T8MINI by focusing on reducing power consumption, lowering emissions, and improving longevity to support customers during the transition.”

The T8MINI comes equipped with a SAE A 2 bolts J744 mounting flange, several threaded ports and a splined shaft.
