The latest data published by the National Fluid Power Association shows industry shipments of fluid power products for December 2014 increased 10.2% compared to December 2013, and increased 2.7% when compared to last month. Mobile hydraulic, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic shipments increased in December 2014 when compared to December 2013. Mobile hydraulic and pneumatic shipments increased, while industrial hydraulic shipments decreased when compared to last month. These charts are drawn from data collected from more than 80 manufacturers of fluid power products by NFPA’s Confidential Shipment Statistics (CSS) program.

For example, 106.4 (the November 2014 level of the industrial hydraulic series) indicates that industrial hydraulic orders received from December 2013 to November 2014 were 106.4% of the orders received from December 2012 to November 2013.Screen Shot 2015-02-02 at 4.25.47 PM

This graph of 12‐month moving averages shows that in December 2014, both hydraulic shipments and pneumatic shipments increased. The table below is expressed in terms of cumulative percent changes. These changes refer to the percent difference between the relevant cumulative total for 2014 and the total for the same months in 2013. For example, the November pneumatic shipments figure of 5.6 means that for the calendar year through November 2014, pneumatic shipments increased 5.6% compared to the same time period in 2013.Screen Shot 2015-02-02 at 4.25.59 PM
