Two series of hydraulic cylinders for NFPA mounting are available from Ortman Fluid Power, Quincy, Ill., for medium- and heavy-duty operation.
The 3TH series is a heavy-duty design of tie-rod construction, rated for pressures up to 5,000 psi. They are available in with steel-bodied bores from 1.50 to 20.00 in. bores. Its robust design incorporates Ortman Fluid Power’s Uni-Cartridge rod gland, a retainer held rod gland for quick and easy replacement without dis-assembly of the cylinder body.
In addition, the medium-duty 7L hydraulic cylinder is slightly smaller for hydraulic applications requiring less pressure to operate. It uses the same design benefits, including the Uni-Cartridge rod gland, of the 3TH series but with the reduction of cost and weight.
The 7L hydraulic features a steel body and is rated for pressures to 2,300 psi, and is available in bore sizes from 1.50 to 14.00 in.
Options in both series include end of stroke cushions, chrome bores versus steel-honed bores, stainless steel rod materials, multiple port types, rod gland drains, air bleeds, metallic scraper, rod boots, and special fluid applications and coatings.
