Next up: CCEFP’s & NFPA’s Fluid Power Innovation & Research Conference

July 30, 2015 By Paul Heney

blu1The Fluid Power Innovation & Research Conference (FPIRC), grown out of a partnership between the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) and the the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP), is becoming one of best places in the world to learn about the latest fluid power R&D.

For years, I’ve said that the U.S. needs to develop a technical conference in fluid power to compete with the well-known and well-attended events in other parts of the world—like Aachen, Germany; Tampere, Finland; and Hangzhou, China. It’s gratifying to see this coming to fruition. Last year’s event, held near Vanderbilt University (a CCEFP partner school) in Nashville was a great success, and Fluid Power World editors were there covering it. And this year, the conference gets a little more urban, with a move to the architecturally stunning Radisson Blu in downtown Chicago. We’ll be there once again, and I hope to see many of you there, too.

The FPIRC will take place October 14-16, 2015 and is co-sponsored by the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) and the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP). The groups say this is the premier conference for fluid power industry and academic research in North America.

Conference participants include industry practitioners and leaders, government representatives and academic fluid power researchers and students from around the world. Recommended attendees are fluid power engineers and technical leaders, human resource professionals, CTO’s and marketing personnel.

At this year’s FPIRC, attendees can:
• Participate in a program of over 40 fluid power technical posters and presentations, including keynote talks on the critical integration of industry and academia in technology and workforce
• Meet one-on-one with students experienced in fluid power research and application in corporate student speed meetings
• Engage with members of industry during the corporate kiosk reception
• Join an optional tour of Argonne National Laboratory and/or CNH Industrial
