Fluid power leaders to gather for NFPA’s annual conference

January 18, 2011 By Paul Heney

Milwaukee—Industry leaders from across the fluid power supply chain will converge on Bonita Springs, Florida, February 16 – 19 for the 2011 Annual Conference of the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA). The conference is widely regarded as one of the best opportunities for industry decision-makers to come together for education and networking.

This year’s conference theme, Competing on the Global Stage, reflects the environment and many of the challenges facing these c-level executives. “The companies in NFPA’s membership are diverse,” said NFPA executive director Eric Lanke, “but the globalization is an issue that affects them all. How well their companies compete on the global stage will help determine their success in the years ahead.”

NFPA has secured a number of high-profile speakers to provide multiple perspectives on this issue, including:

• The Importance of American Manufacturing for Global Strength – John Ferriola, COO, Nucor;
• U.S. and Global Economic Trends – Alan Beaulieu, economist and principal with the Institute for Trend Research;
• The Strategic Imperative to Manage the Supply Chain –William Copacino, president and CEO, Oco, Inc.; and
• Building High-Performing Global Teams – Ted Gerber, senior consultant, Guttman Development Strategies.

The NFPA Annual Conference will also facilitate the sharing of knowledge among members through a number of planned activities including case study presentations, informal and formal networking discussions, and member focus groups.

“Our members have a variety of different objectives in the new global economy—staying competitive here at home, increasing sales in export markets, and expanding operation in foreign countries,” Lanke said, “Because this diversity of membership provides opportunities to learn from each other, unique knowledge sharing activities have been added to facilitate this interaction.”
