Danfoss Power Solutions has appointed Xianwei (Roy) Chen as the president of its Editron division, effective immediately. Previously vice president, Editron, Chen will join the Power Solutions Leadership Team and report directly to Eric Alström, president of Danfoss Power Solutions. He is based at the company’s offices in Hamburg, Germany.

Chen will play a key role in strengthening Danfoss Power Solutions’ on- and off-highway electrification business. He will lead the two Editron business units — eMotor & Inverter Solutions and Power Charging Solutions — and all functional areas, including sales development and portfolio; R&D and technology; safety, environment, health, and quality; finance; human resources; procurement; supply chain; and operational excellence. Chen brings more than 15 years of experience in electrification, electronics, automotive, and mobile off-highway applications to his new role, along with a background and successful track record in leading fast-growing businesses.

“The on- and off-highway industries are at a transformative moment, with electrification quickly progressing from a feasible option to a superior choice for clean motive power,” Chen said. “At Danfoss Editron, we’re proud to be leading the electrification revolution by delivering innovative system solutions that enable a carbon-free future. I look forward to leading the charge.”

“The strong growth and strategic importance of our electrification business demands the right leader,” Alström added. “Roy has a keen sense for identifying and pursuing key growth areas. His ability to set a clear vision and execute against it is admirable. With Roy at the helm, I have no doubt our Editron division is well positioned for continued growth and success.”

Chen joined Danfoss Power Solutions in 2019 and served in several leadership positions within the company’s Work Function division before being named vice president of the Connectors business unit, Fluid Conveyance division, in 2021. In early 2024, he was named vice president of the Editron division.

Prior to Danfoss, Chen held roles at Eastman Kodak, Danaher Corporation, and Woodbridge Group. At Danaher, he led Danaher operations, business systems and merger and acquisition activities, with an impressive track record of turnaround and transforming businesses. And at Woodbridge, he drove factory performance improvement, and later, as general manager for the automotive business, he successfully led cross-functional teams in research and development, sales, and operations.

Chen holds a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, an International Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical design, manufacturing, and their automation from Nanjing Agricultural University in China.
