The CED1200S is the first component in a new family of control units designed for safety related applications, according to officials at Walvoil, Reggio Emilia, Italy. The unit, compliant with Hardware Category 2, can be used in applications up to Performance Level D/SIL 2.

The CED1200S control unit is designed for safety related mobile applications.

It is programmable according to the IEC 61131-3 standard with PHC Studio Integrated Development Environment (CED1200W). This robust unit is completely sealed and protected against water and dust ingress (IP67/IPx9K).

All the PWM power outputs are available with current closed loop for applications with proportional pressure-reducing valves. And the controller is suitable for 12V and 24V applications thanks to the 8 to 32V power supply input range.

The device has a number of general purpose inputs, including 24 analog inputs, 12 digital inputs and six temperature inputs. It also features two CAN bus ports and a 5V sensor supply output. Working temperature of the unit ranges from -40 to 85° C (-40 to 185° F).

The controller has been qualified following the most rigorous international and customers standards, said the company. The CED1200S is suited for use in integrated systems for mini-midi excavators, skid steer loaders, boom lifts, aerial devices and other mobile machines.
