Astrid MozesPower management company Eaton announced that The Manufacturing Institute awarded Astrid Mozes, chief technology officer, Hydraulics Group, Eaton, the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Award for her achievement in the manufacturing industry. The STEP Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry, from the factory-floor to the C-suite.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by The Manufacturing Institute alongside a distinguished group of women who work tirelessly to achieve industry excellence and success for our customers,” said Astrid Mozes. “Eaton’s Hydraulics Group is committed to understanding our customer’s challenges and solving them with innovative products and technologies developed by our global engineers.”

STEP Ahead is designed to help improve the retention of existing female talent and highlight role models that can help raise awareness about careers for women in manufacturing. Currently, women represent 25% of all manufacturing employees but 51% of the potential workforce. The Manufacturing Institute will hold an awards reception on March 26 in Washington, D.C.

“We chose to honor these women because they each made significant achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company and the industry as a whole – they are the faces of exciting careers in manufacturing,” said Jennifer McNelly, president, The Manufacturing Institute. “The STEP Awards are part of a larger STEP Ahead initiative, launched to examine and promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry that focuses on the attraction, development, advancement, and retention of high potential female talent.”

As chief technology officer, Astrid Mozes drives innovation and new product development for Eaton’s Hydraulics Group. Since joining Eaton in 1990, Astrid Mozes has held a number of positions where she has made remarkable contributions to the company’s growth and success.
