Sauer-Danfoss launches new direct displacement control pump
Sauer-Danfoss is pleased to introduce the DDC20 — a new 20 cm3 direct displacement control pump — to their lineup of pumps and motors for transmissions on mobile equipment. As the most compact pump on the market, the DDC20 offers unparalleled efficiency, low noise and the flexibility to perform in a wide array of light-duty equipment applications.
CCEFP research aims to reduce friction in fluid power systems
Friction between lubricated surfaces is a principal source of energy losses in fluid power systems—a ubiquitous problem for fluid power users across the industrial spectrum. But thanks to research underway within the Engineering Research Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power, that problem is on its way to resolution.
Energy efficiency conference hits Chicago
Jon Jensen of SMC, Immediate Past President of the International Fluid Power Society, opened up the first Energy Efficient Hydraulics and Pneumatics Conference at the Sheraton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel on Tuesday. Jensen explained that the registered attendance was 107, an excellent showing for a first-time event.
Five ways to reduce your hydraulic footprint
HydraForce has recently added a section to their website explaining how their multi-function valves incorporate two or more functions into a single cartridge valve. By combining functions, they can reduce space claim, number of ports, and costly cross drills, while increasing flow passage and efficiency.
Eaton introduces AxisPro proportional valves
Eaton Corp. has announced a new generation of proportional valves created to provide integrated programmable control capabilities in sophisticated electro-hydraulic axis control applications. Eaton’s new AxisPro valves are designed to support both centralized and distributed axis control architectures in high-performance applications.
Cyclone is new twist in hydraulic filter design
Hydraulic fluids flow through filters in a spiral pattern that improves flow, increases absorption capacity, keeps filters cleaner and protects hard-working equipment from contamination.
Best Practices for Mobile Hydraulic Design webinar: October 13th
With ever-rising fuel prices, designing efficient hydraulic systems can pay big dividends for users of mobile hydraulic vehicles. Join Design World as we take an in-depth look at three critical areas of mobile hydraulic system design: filtration, sensors and sealing. Our expert panel will be presenting critical design tips and answering your questions.
Paul Heney on avoiding tradeshow mistakes
For the most part, industrial tradeshows are necessary evils. People who don’t travel seem to think they’re comprised of an endless array of fantastic locales, amazing meals and endless partying. Check out Editorial Director Paul Heney’s tips for engineers in the video below, along with some of the strangest mistakes he’s seen people make at their booths.
Altair’s new series hydraulic hybrid bus unveiled
Normally, the figure of 6.9 mpg wouldn’t get many people’s hearts racing. But this number, achieved by Altair ProductDesign’s new BUSolutions prototype, is fairly stunning. Doing real-world testing of the bus over downtown, commuter and arterial routes, the bus achieved the 6.9 mpg number. Compare that with 3.3 mpg for a same-class diesel bus going through the identical testing, and the number begins to impress.
