Building a better fluid power event

September 21, 2017 By Paul Heney

Although you may be thinking Fall, we’re already thinking Spring, because we’re knee-deep in the midst of planning for our third annual Fluid Power Technology Conference in Milwaukee. The conference, held at MSOE’s Kern Center, is already set for May 15-16, 2018.

One of our takeaways after successfully running two of these events was that we wanted to get more of you involved. So, we created a Program Committee, comprised of manufacturers, users and academics. We’ve already held several successful in-person meetings and phone calls, and we’re making some wonderful progress on next year’s program.

Ramirez, who’s been very active in the NFPA, at one point leading its Future Leaders group, was selected as a White House Fellow by President Obama in 2016—and served on the National Economic Council for both the Obama and Trump Administrations. His unique blend of experiences will inform what’s sure to be a fascinating talk, “What Washington gets right—and wrong—about manufacturing today.”

As always, the Conference will be heavy on fluid power education, and we’re working closely with our friends at the Milwaukee School of Engineering to make sure all aspects of the industry are represented.

I encourage you to add those dates in May to your calendar now, and check out the
Conference website at fluidpowertechconference.com. If you have specific ideas for what you’d like to see in 2018, please email me at the address below—I’d love to hear your thoughts.
