Eaton today announced five new displacement sizes for its Hydre-MAC low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) direct drive, radial piston motor. Now available in eight sizes, including 13, 16, 20, 25, 30, 36, 42 and 50 liters/rev, the Hydre-MAC LSHT motor displacement options provide flexibility for heavy equipment manufacturers in the pulp and paper, offshore and mining industries.
The Hydre-MAC motor update also includes a standard hollow shaft with shrink disc coupling and several optional features, such as shaft encoders, integral multi-disc brakes and internal or external spline shafts.
“At Eaton, we are committed to understanding our customers’ challenges and finding innovative solutions. The complete line of displacement ranges for the Hydre-MAC motor provides manufacturers with a variety of torque capabilities to meet the needs of each individual machine,” said Lyle Meyer, product manager, Industrial Drives, Eaton. “In addition, Eaton now offers standard torque arm kits for all motor sizes.”
Depending on a manufacturer’s needs, the Hydre-MAC motor can adjust to deliver the right torque for the application. The new displacement sizes provide a full range of options, with each motor delivering constant power with a range of torques depending on the speed of the machine. In all, Hydre-MAC motor can deliver up to 900 kW of power and up to 280,000 Nm of torque at maximum pressures up to 350 bar.
The Hydre-MAC motor, created using a MacTaggert Scott heavy-duty motor design, is a direct drop-in replacement for the industry’s most installed motor.
